Hummus is a tasty dip or spread made with chickpeas, tahini, lemon, and spices. In the Middle East and the Mediterranean, it’s a popular dish.

1 Step

Place all the ingredients in a blender and mix until the chickpeas are smooth.

2 Step

Store the hummus in the covered container in a refrigerator

3 Step

Server Chilled and just before serving add chopped parsley on top and you may also sprinkle some red chilli powder and a teaspoon of olive oil.

4 Step

Hummus maybe had with wedges of Pita bread, potato chips or fresh vegetables

Conclusion

If desired, reserve 1/4 cup of unmashed chickpeas and sprinkle on the top of the dip before serving. More garlic maybe added if desired. If a thinner consistency is required, the mixture maybe thinned with lime juice.
